What goal have you set for yourself this year? Have you set any at all?
I believe that goal setting has been the most important factor in the success of Rescue my Pension and the development of my own property portfolio. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that it has changed my life. I have always been ambitious but up until five years ago I had no direction, I had plenty of dreams and ideas but I failed to make real progress. Then I decided to change my approach and started to write down my goals. I had a three year plan which at the time seemed well outside my comfort zone but by breaking this down to yearly then monthly bite size goals it wasn’t so intimidating. The three years passed and I am pleased to say I accomplished all of the goals I set out to achieve. Some of the highlights include summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, investing in more property and starting Rescue my Pension the best UK property investment company. Needless to say I have carried on setting goals and I am excited at what the future holds for Rescue my Pension!
Here are my top 3 Goal setting tips
1. Write down your goals, you can’t hit a target if it doesn’t exist. By putting pen to paper it will help you focus on what you want.
2. Break down the big goals into manageable portions. Every month, list out what you can do to progress towards your bigger goals as well as your short term goals.
3. Refer back to your goals constantly. Don’t write your goals down then file them away never to be seen again – make sure you constantly refer back to them. Some people carry them around with them; some choose to create vision boards. Use whatever works for you, just keep them in your focus.
